Viking River Routes

From its inception, Nara to Norwich has worked with colleagues on The Viking Phenomenon Project in Uppsala on the role of the Viking world in our research. We are delighted to continue our collaboration with them on the next stage of the research, the World in the Viking Age (WIVA), which started in 2024.

As Professor Neil Price discusses in his blog post, the research will ‘trace the Scandinavians’ activities in a network of early globalisation that connected the Baltic to the Mediterranean, the Indian Ocean, Central Asia, and the China Seas.’
