About this objectOne of the most fascinating finds from Okinoshima [EXH47] is a miniature loom, now housed at Munakata Grand Shrine (宗像大社). Dating from the 8th–9th centuries it is made of gilt-bronze and reminds us of the transfer of silk and weaving technology from China, eastwards as well as westwards.
